Zero-sort recycling is an easy way to help get your items reused. Instead of having separate out things like plastics, newspapers, and cardboard everything can go together! Later down the line, a processing facility will sort the recycling ensuring everything is done properly.
Remember when recycling to only turn in clean and debris-free products. Packaging containing things like food waste will not be accepted by the final processing facility and often result in fewer products being recycled due to contamination issues. Stick to products like:
A simple rinse of your plastic or glass packaging dramatically increases its potential to be recycled.
Don't ever put hazardous waste in your trash! Bring products like computers, monitors, TVs, batteries, mercury switches, lamps, light bulbs, and ballasts to the recycling center so they can be disposed of properly! There is no charge for Leeds residents! These products DO NOT GO in the zero-sort bin, please notify the attendant upon arrival for help.
